GRID SOFA by GLOSTER from COSH LIVING
Autumn is such a perfect season for spending time outside. The days are clear, the nights are crisp. Whether you're sitting outside with a cup of tea soaking up the morning sun or entertaining around a firepit of an evening, your outdoor space must be dressed for the occasion.
Firstly, we need the ultimate chairs. Comfortable, not too heavy, easy to clean and weather tough. I like the choice of both upholstered and not. Both have a purpose for different occasions. Upholstered chairs are perfect for curling up in, but not too close to the fire.

Whereas a cane or rattan chair are the perfect entertainer; a little more upright for good conversation and super easy to wipe down. Don't be afraid to mix two different styles together as long as they are the same colour (or have some similarity).

Next, a place for the nibbles and drinks. I like to provide contrast in textures ad colour when styling a space, so I am throwing in a solid teak coffee table for some substance. Tough as nails, natural and chunky. And the warmth of the timber also adds a new dynamic.

To be able to linger outside a little bit longer be it afternoon or evening, we also need some form of warmth. There is nothing more delicious than the tactile comfort of a New Zealand sheepskin rug. Throw them over your chairs and watch people gravitate toward them.
For those cooler nights, or just some added ambiance, including a firepit in your space, increases the attractiveness of your outdoor area. A fire brings people together. And a firepit allows the element of fire to be transported to any area of the garden.

And of course, we could go on with the addition of throws, lanterns etc... but I think we've covered the staples for autumn. Just add family, friends, pizza and a few very large mugs of mulled wine!
